B.Sc (Ed) Agricultural Science Education
The B.Sc. (Ed.) Agricultural Science is structured to run for a minimum of four years and maximum of eight years for students starting at 100 level or minimum of three years and maximum of six years for students starting at 200 levels. Students will undergo a six week (6) practical teaching period at 300 and 400 levels
The philosophy of B. Sc. (Ed.) Agricultural Science programme is enshrined in the National Policy on Education and the Vision and Mission of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). The programme sought to produce quality Agricultural science teachers through open and distance learning mode. Specifically, the philosophy hinges on the production of high quality Agricultural science teachers whose fundamental responsibility is to provide students with quality knowledge and skills in Agriculture through highly accessible, flexible and life-long learning. The programme is also geared towards equipping the learners with concepts and principles that will enable them make informed decisions regarding their environment and function effectively in the society.
To provide highly accessible, flexible and enhanced quality education leading to the award of a bachelor’s degree anchored by social justice, equity, equality and national cohesion through a comprehensive reach that transcends all barriers.

Admission Requirements
UME :Five credit passes in SSCE in Biology or Agricultural science, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English Language.
- b) Direct Entry
- i) NCE with at least merit passes in 2 relevant subjects or a double major in Agricultural science with SSCE requirements.
- ii) Advanced level passes in 2 relevant subjects including Agricultural science with SSCE requirements
- iii)IJMB passes in 2 relevant subjects including Agricultural science with SSCE requirements

Degree rule
To be eligible for the award of the B. Sc (Ed.) in Agricultural science, a student must have passed a minimum of 120 and 90 credit units for the 4 year- and 3 year- degree programme respectively.
