Career Profile

I had my primary education in various towns across Nigeria, spanning from Makurdi through Minna to Abuja, Zaria, Keffi and Otukpo between 1963 – 1969. My secondary school education was at Government College, Kaduna from 1970 to ’74. I attended the Advanced Teachers College, Katsina Ala from 1976 – 1979 and served in the NYSC scheme at Agbon Girls College, Okpara-Inland by ‘79/80. On completion of the scheme, I taught at the Government Secondary School, Otukpo before proceeding to the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where I obtained the Bachelors’, Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Science Education. I was a lecturer and head of chemistry department at the Advanced Teachers College, Makurdi from 1983 to 1985. I joined the services of the National Open University of Nigeria from 2003 till date, I am currently an Associate Professor though tentatively promoted to the rank of a full Professor awaiting council ratification. I have served in various capacities in the National Open University of Nigeria, as a course coordinator, lecturer and study centre director at the Makurdi, Ugbokolo, Sokoto and the Otukpo study centre’s. I also served out a sabbatical leave at the department of science education at the Taraba State University, Jalingo from 2018 to 2019.
