Dr. Gabriel Chibuzor Job was born in 25th January 1963, in Rumuodo-Rumuekini town – Akpor in Obio/Akpor local government of Rivers State. He attended the then State primary school, Rumuekini/Rumuosi in the present day Obio/Akpor LGEA, from 1971 – 1976 – where he obtained the first leaving school certificate with Distinction. He proceeded to County Grammar School, Ikwerre/Etche in 1976 and obtained his WASC in 1981. He worked briefly between 1981-1986, and joined the University of Ibadan, Rumuorlumini Campus in 1986. He graduated in 1990 with a Second Class Lower division in English Language. Dr. Job completed his mandatory Youth Service in 1991. He enrolled for M. Ed Educational Technology in the University of Port Harcourt and graduated in 1996. Again, he worked briefly in the public sector before enrolling for his Ph. D Educational Technology from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, and graduated in 2010. He joined the National Open University in April 2011 and currently a Reader. He is also the current Head of Department, Educational Foundations, Faculty of Education, NOUN. He is married to Dr. Nneka Gabriel-Job and blessed with lovely Children.

Dr. Gabriel Chibuzor Job has a diversified working experience – both from the private and public sectors. First, he worked as Store record Clark with Omuna Construction Company between 1981 -1984. Financial Manager Mascot Services (Nig), 1985. He also worked as Senior tutor Ejigba local government secondary school- 1991. He was appointed Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman Obio/Akpor local government Chairman on Education Matters in 1995. He became Education Secretary Obio/Akpor LGEA from 1995-1999. He was appointed Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area between 2001- 2003. He became the Managing Director Omarim Agencies (Nig.) 2004-2009. Appointed Lecturer 2 at the then College of Education, now, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuorlumeni 2009-2010. He then joined the National Open University of Nigeria in April 2011, as a Lecturer 2, and has risen to the rank of a Reader. Here in NOUN, he has worked in various capacities including, Unit Head, Educational Technology, Centre Director, Port Harcourt Study Centre, between 2015-17, Centre Director Yenagoa Study Centre, 2018- 2020. Currently, he is Head of Department, Educational Foundations in Faculty of Education. He has also served in Various committees both at the University, Faculty and Departmental levels, either as Chairman or Member.
