Career Profile
Olusegun Adeleke Oba-Adenuga is a Professor of Educational Counselling & Personnel Psychology from the Faculty of Education, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja. He had his higher education at the Ogun State College of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode (1984-87), where he obtained his Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE). He obtained his Bachelor’s degree at the Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos (1995-2000). His Master’s degree in Educational Psychology was obtained from the University of Lagos in 2005. He also had M.Sc. Business Administration in Babcock University, Ilishan in 2022 and bagged his Ph.D. in Applied Psychology (Personnel) from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria in 2011.
His research efforts gravitated around six central themes – Educational Counselling, Gender issues, Employees’ Mental Health, Employees’ Motivation, Student’s Academic Performance, and Employees’ Training and Development. These efforts have resulted in over 50 articles published in international and national journals and over 18 national and international conference presentations.
Oba-Adenuga is a member of the Association of Child Learning Psychologists (ACLP), Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), and Open, Distance and e-Learning Association of Nigeria (ODeLAN). He has facilitated many courses and supervised 45 undergraduates and 22 Postgraduate Students’ projects in Education and Business Administration.
He was the head, Faculty of Education Examination Committee (2017-2018); Head of Department, Educational Foundations (2018-2020), and Director, Abeokuta Study Centre (2020-2024). Currently, he is the Departmental Coordinator, Ph.D. programme.
Prof. Oba-Adenuga earned several awards and distinctions; he is a Pastor and a public speaker. He is married with children.
