Career Profile

My career journey began in 2012 when I joined the National Open University of Nigeria as an Assistant Librarian in the University Library. This role ignited my passion for information management and library services, leading me to pursue further education. In 2016, I completed my Master in Library and Information Science (MLIS), which deepened my understanding of the field and enhanced my professional skills.

Motivated by my desire to contribute to academic research and practice, I pursued a PhD, specializing in Records Management, which I earned in 2018. This academic achievement allowed me to explore the interface between information science and education, refining my expertise in managing and preserving records.

In 2019, I was redeployed to the Faculty of Education (Department of Library & Information Science) and re-designated as a Lecturer II. This transition marked a significant shift in my career, enabling me to engage actively in teaching, research, and faculty development.

Today, I proudly serve as a Senior Lecturer and the Acting Head of the Department of Library and Information Science. In this role, I lead curriculum development, mentor students, and promote research initiatives.

My journey reflects a commitment to lifelong learning and a dedication to advancing the field of Library and Information Science, making meaningful contributions to both academia and the broader community.
